Belgium: Grand Places, Tasty Treats, and Festive Feels
Visiting Brussels in Belgium was like stepping into a fairy tale, especially during the Christmas season. The Grand Place, with its majestic height, intricate art, and stunning craftsmanship, left me completely awe-struck. Strolling through the city center, visiting one historic building after another, and listening to the guide’s vivid descriptions brought the past to life in such a captivating way.
The city’s heart was buzzing with excitement as hundreds gathered for the Christmas musical display. I found myself indulging in some Turkish falafel—crispy and flavorful, unlike anything I had tasted before. Belgium is definitely a place to explore with friends, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere together.
For the food lovers out there, Belgium offers three must-try treats: Belgian fries, chocolate, and waffles. I happily devoured the chocolate and waffles, though the fries didn’t quite live up to my expectations. I left with a desire to return, especially since I missed visiting the historic and scenic cities of Antwerp and Bruges.
Traveling through Belgium during the Christmas season added a special charm, with festive lights and decorations everywhere. And yes, I did see the famous Manneken Pis statue—perhaps a bit overrated, but still a symbol of Belgian pride.
Belgium is a country that offers a blend of history, festivity, and delicious indulgences, making it a place I look forward to revisiting.
